It starts with the quality of the bean! "Specialty grade" is an industry standard established by the Specialty Coffee Association. Coffee beans must meet strict SCA requirements for uniformity and absence of defects to earn the "specialty" designation. Additionally, the coffee produced from these beans must earn a minimum "cupping score" of 80 on a scale of 1-100. Cupping scores are determined by experienced "tasters" prior to export. Only about 5% of the coffee consumed in America is specialty grade. Our Fabulous Bean coffees are made with only the highest quality Arabica specialty grade beans and expertly roasted to achieve rich and complex flavor profiles. All our roasts are rich, smooth and bursting with full coffee flavor. I love that Cocoa Metro has a hot chocolate mix since I love their cold drink mix. The only question then becomes, "Do I want it hot or cold?", and it's very reassuring that no matter the choice it's going to be extremely delicious and to taste with Cocoa Metro's mixes!

A “Burr-fect” Grinder

I heard years ago that burr grinders were superior to blades when it comes to enjoying the full flavor of coffee. I can now definitely agree with that claim thanks to this manual burr grinder. It’s very solidly made and easy to use making it more of an “organic” experience in preparing our coffee! The Sailors Roast I ground was definitely a tad more bold and full bodied flavor that my previously bladed grinder produced.

The BEST. I grind it myself, and that aroma just sets me free. It reminds me of that fresh ground goodness we used to experience after mother would take us grocery shopping at A&P or Grand Union. I’d stick my nose right inside the fold of the bag and just get all dreamy. SailorsRoast has got my number.
